Turnkey software project

At its plant in Mainz (Germany), Cargill extracts oil that will be used for the production of refined oil products. Cargill worked with AG Solution to optimize the automation software for the extraction and preparation divisions. In both cases, the whole project was completed in just 4 months.

“AG Solution looked at our industrial automation process from a helicopter view and then implemented their recommendations in practice”, Cargill’s Wolfgang Hoffmann explains. “You give them P&IDs, electrical circuit diagrams, you discuss the plant’s operations – and then their engineering machine jumps into action. With extremely high quality and efficiency, which has led to a 100% successful FAT and start-up.”“.

This fast start and the self-dependency of th AG Solution team meant that Cargill was able to finish the automation of the extraction division as well as the optimization of the automation software for the preparation division in barely 4 months time. With an absolute minimum of downtime in both divisions.

“Their expertise and experience with industrial automation projects – and more specifically in the grain and seed processing sector – were certainly decisive factors. Thanks to AG Solution’s process knowledge, we could quickly achieve the desired result with very little engineering effort, and that reduces our total cost of ownership“, says Wolfgang.

AG Solution supervised the entire software process and also advised Cargill in other areas (for example, with regard to electrical engineering). That gave our customer a real added value.

After finishing the two projects, their experts remained on standby to resolve any problem that might occur as quickly as possible. On-site, if need be. “That makes AG Solution a reliable partner for us – over the long term!” Wolfgang concludes.
